Week 11: Rescued
This week was a mix of emotions for sure. This week was less than 7 days as this is the week that i get off trail for an undetermined amount of time. During this time i got some good miles in as well as good times spent with friends. Great last trail memories (shout out Sam). I think the people ive met and hiked with on this trail have been the most amazing part, of course the views are good and the satisfaction of completing days is great but the people really elevate the experience. So many good views and memories made. But with all the good things going on the daunting future was present as well. As i looked forward to the fires ahead on trail and the ever changing conditions, i wondered what could possibly be in store for me. I made plans for my parents and older brother to come visit, hike a little, and then shuttle me around the park fire. As that date approached i realized that no shuttle around would help me escape the fire danger and smoke (i wasnt stoked on hiking where a respirator would be needed). I ultimately decided to go back home and reconsider how i could finish or what would be next.
